Exclusive: Residence Permit Issues May Stop Fit Again Etebo From World Cup Qualifier
Published: September 20, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that CD Feirense striker Oghenekaro Etebo resumed full training with his Portuguese club on Monday, September 19.
But the former Warri Wolves star may likely miss out on the Super Eagles roster for their World Cup qualifier against Zambia on October 9 due to issues with his residence permit.
With the Portuguese authorities notifying Etebo that the document will be ready sometime next month, he cannot fly out of Europe now as he will have to pass through the process of applying for an entry visa again to return to Portugal, which is time consuming.
It is understood that a representative of the Nigeria Football Federation or coaching staff will contact the Dream Team VI poster boy in to coming days to find out whether or not he will be available for the World Cup qualifier scheduled to take place at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
The 20-year-old Etebo made his competitive debut for the senior national team in March against Egypt.
