English Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester City attempted to sign new Super Eagles invitee Isaac Success prior to his move to Udinese, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
The BJ Foundation product was the most sought after player in the Nigeria U17s squad after winning the Golden Boot award at the African U-17 Championship with seven goals to his name.
“Chelsea were the first team that wanted to sign Isaac Success after the African Championship. Their technical director Emenalo personally contacted us for him, ” Isaac Success’s bonafide rep Dominic Egbukwu told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“They were willing to pay one million pounds transfer fee. Stellar Group’s Michael Coker came with an offer from Manchester City, and Porto and Barcelona were also interested.
“Granada and Udinese were the last teams to show interest. They were ready to make payment within 48 hours and closed the deal.”
Isaac Success, 20, had attracted interest from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain before his shift to Watford in the summer transfer market.
