Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that FK Haugesund skipper William Troost-Ekong will begin training with the national team on Tuesday, October 4.
The Dutch-born central defender departed Norway yesterday and should be in Nigeria today, based on his travel itinerary.
Troost-Ekong will join the Super Eagles camp in good form, on the back of his man of the match performance in FK Haugesund’s 1-1 draw with Sarpsborg in the Norwegian Tippeligaen on Sunday.
The former Holland youth international is being tipped to continue his role in central defense in the World Cup qualifier against Zambia, especially with the absence of German-based stopper Leon Balogun.
This season, Troost-Ekong has featured in 24 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals from his defensive position.
