Algerian Federation In Talks With Coach Who Rejected Nigeria Job
Published: October 13, 2016
The Algerian Football Federation have made an approach to Frenchman Paul Le Guen about becoming their new manager in the wake of the dismissal of Milovan Rajevac.
Le Buteur says the president of the FAF, Mohamed Raouraoua, has opened a line of communication with the ex- Paris Saint-Germain stopper using emissaries, and the parties could meet again this week.
It would be recalled that Paul Le Guen was appointed Nigeria coach in July, only for him to turn down the offer as the Nigerian Federation did not meet his terms and conditions.
Ex-Super Eagles coach Philippe Troussier has been mentioned as a possible candidate, and Paul Put and Safet Susic recently joined to race to succeed Milovan Rajevac.
The FAF have stated they will appoint a coach before the national team travel to Uyo for the World Cup qualifier against Nigeria, with Rolland Courbis thought to be the front-runner for the job.
