John Chibuike Announces Departure From Swedish Club AIK
Published: November 03, 2016
John Chibuike has announced that he will not extend his contract with Swedish Allsvenskan side AIK at the end of the 2016 season.
The attacking midfielder joined AIK in August and found it very difficult breaking into the first team, with only seven substitute appearances to his name to date in the top-flight ahead of the last game of the season.
“Yes. I have a short contract and before the last game, I thought I would start, but then had Rikard Norling a short talk with me and said he would play with the players who would be there next season, ” Chibuike explained to Expressen.
The 28-year-old played for BK Hacken, Rosenborg and Gaziantepspor before his return to Scandinavia.
AIK previously announced that Super Eagles midfielder Dickson Etuhu will not be offered a new contract, while Chinedu Obasi has informed this website that he will move on to pastures new at the end of this season.
