Uche Nwofor : UK Lawyers Might Press Criminal Charges Against Boavista Braga Brothers Over False Documentation
Published: November 15, 2016
UK lawyers are investigating the possibility of bringing criminal charges against Boavista president Alvaro Braga and administrator Diogo Braga for fraud.
Nwofor signed a termination compensation worth a gross amount of approximately 220,000 euros.
Diogo emailed the agreed terms and Nwofor accepted and signed with club president Alvaro Braga and Diogo Braga, but the Braga brothers misled the Portuguese football authorities by registering a termination agreement with no amount whatsoever.
Nwofor is shocked about what they have done and currently is talking to his lawyers about it.
Nwofor said : “I’m shocked, We agreed that they will pay the compensation by 23rd of September which was the deadline. I tried to call Diogo Braga after the deadline passed without payment But he never answered.
“Now we discovered that Boavista send this false document to the Federation. This is criminal. I am in touch with the lawyers and they are dealing with the case.
“I also want my lawyers to investigate that Boavista made all my government contribution because for the whole time I was in Boavista I never received a payroll slip only cash in hand.
“I have to be sure because these guys are capable of anything.”
Allnigeriasoccer.com contacted the London-based football agency and spoke with Kobe Benson who confirmed that Boavista have been reported to the authorities.
He also confirmed that lawyers are also carefully studying the case and are convinced that there are several cases of grave breaches and gross misconduct ranging from fraud, intimidation, document manipulation, harassment and even modern day slavery.
“This is very bad for Portuguese football and I am convinced that Boavista will be banned for such unprofessional, shocking and deplorable behaviour.
“This was all carefully masterminded by the president Alvaro Braga and we have clear evidence of this.
“We find it difficult that such cowboys are at the helm of a professional football club in Portugal, ” Kobe Benson said.
