Nigeria U15 Coach : I Have Not Appointed Lateef Omidiji Captain
Published: November 19, 2016
Nigeria U15 coach, Danladi Nasidi, has reacted to rumours in the local media which claimed that he has appointed FC Dordrecht sensation Lateef Omidiji Jr the captain of the youth national team in a bid to convince him to pledge his international future to Nigeria rather than the United States of America.
And Nasidi, who has been in the national team setup for about 18 years, says there is no truth to reports that the Nigerian U15 national team will hold a get-together next month.
“Giving Lateef Omidiji captain requires several things. Can he speak the local language fluently or adapt to the country?” Nasidi told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“But he will be a regular player if he decides to play for the U15s, he is good. I first watched him at U11 level and told the NFF, no one paid attention, only Barrister Akinwunmi.”
He went on : “I gave a proposal to the NFF about a tournament in Dubai next month, they have not told me about any camp.
“During the time of Sani Lulu, every holiday there must be camp, that is planning. I am not happy with what is happening now. I want Nigeria to be one of the top nations in youth football.”
Danladi Nasidi has not peen paid his salaries and allowances by the Nigeria Football Federation for the past six years.
