Rundown of how players of Nigerian descent fared in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday, November 22.
Ufumwen Osawe was introduced in the 77th minute of Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 loss to CSKA Moscow at Stadion Oktyabr Artificial Turf (Moscow).
At CMB Training Centre (La Turbie), Tottenham Hotspur crashed out of the competition after they were beaten 2-1 by Monaco. England youth internationals Timothy Eyoma and Keanan Bennetts started and played the full game for the London team.
Midfielder Moroyin Omolabi and exciting striker Aramide Oteh were not selected by Spurs for the game.
Over to Belvoir Drive, Leicester City U19s failed to replicate the performance of their senior team after they exited the competition following their 3-2 loss to visitors, Club Brugge.
Calvin Ughelumba and Layton Ndukwu put in a ninety-minute shift for the Foxes. Ughelumba gave his team hope with his first goal in the UYL after 71 minutes, but they eventually ran out of time.
Moses John, 18, did not feature for Porto in their 3-1 defeat suffered at the hands of FC Copenhagen at østerbro Stadion.
