Jurgen Klopp : No More Talk About Ejaria Because He Is 19
Published: November 30, 2016
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has expressed satisfaction over the performance of Ovie Ejaria in Tuesday night’s 2-0 win over Leeds United in the quarterfinals of the League Cup.
The England U20 international was one of eight changes in the starting XI from the team that faced Sunderland on Saturday, and the central midfielder was in action for 82 minutes before he was replaced by James Milner.
“We don’t even talk any more about Ovie [Ejaria]? Because he’s 19, meanwhile! ” Klopp told liverpoolfc.com.
“All the young boys did very well – 17, 18, 19, they did well in a very important game. It’s a quarter-final.
“How I said a lot of times, we don’t make line-ups because we don’t respect the tournament, we make these line-ups to win the game. We need fresh legs, I can’t change it.”
Ejaria has played in every single round of the League Cup for the Reds, three in total, and made his Premier League debut against Watford in November.
