Toronto Whizkid Akinola Ends 2016 With 19 Goals For USA U17 After Scoring Against Brazil

Toronto FC Academy product Ayo Akinola scored and bagged an assist as the United States U17 National Team wrapped up group play at the 2016 NIKE International Friendlies Tournament with a 3-0 thrashing of Brazil.
Akinola started the onslaught when he pounced on a defensive error to open the scoring two minutes before the interval, before he provided the assist for Josh Sargent’s goal in the 51st minute.
Akinola’s strike against the South Americans took his tally at the NIKE Tournament to four goals and he was the joint top scorer for the Americans along with Sargent and Andrew Carleton.
He tallied two goals in United States’ 5-1 rout of Turkey and was on the scoresheet versus Portugal in the team’s opener.
