Why Chelsea Star Victor Moses Committed His International Future To Nigeria Ahead Of England

Chelsea right wing-back Victor Moses might have represented the senior national team of England rather than the Super Eagles, but was convinced by his family and his former coach in Nigeria to choose the African powerhouse.

The former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic star was advised by his camp to snub the Three Lions because of the way Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor and other players of Nigerian descent like John Fashanu and John Salako were used and dumped by the coaches.

“Victor Moses was having a double mind about representing the Super Eagles. He didn’t want to play for Nigeria, ” a top source close to Moses informed allnigeriasoccer.com.

“His coach in Nigeria and senior brother who lives in the United States convinced him to choose the Super Eagles.

“They told him that the Nigerians born in England like Agbonlahor were used for friendly games and unimportant matches by England, and he has more chance to play for Nigeria, so that convinced him. ”

Moses, 25, was an England youth-teamer before commiting his international future to his country of birth, and the highlight of his career with the Young Lions was winning the Golden Boot at the 2007 UEFA European U-17 Championship in Belgium.
