Published: December 10, 2016
Arsenal Academy manager Andries Jonker was among the 4,821 spectators who witnessed the Dutch Eerste Divisie clash between MVV Maastricht and De Graafschap on Friday night.
Arsenal youth team expert Jeorge Bird says the Dutchman was at De Geusselt (Maastricht) to run the rule over Nigeria U20 international Kelechi Nwakali.
And the central midfielder didn’t disappoint after putting in a full shift and netting his maiden goal since he turned professional.
Nwakali was involved in the buildup play that led to the opponents conceding a penalty when his pass released Dyon Gijzen, who was fouled by goalkeeper Filip Bednarek.
