Official : Portland Timbers Acquire Rights To Igboananike, Adi & Arokoyo Protected

Major League Soccer club Portland Timbers have announced that they have
acquired the rights to Kennedy Igboananike from DC United in exchange
for the 21st pick in the second round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.
Portland Timbers also revealed that they have declined the Nigerian striker’s option for the 2017 MLS season.
Fanendo Adi and Super Eagles defender Gbenga Arokoyo are among the 11 players protected by the club, meaning the two players can’t be selected by Atlanta or Minnesota in the Expansion Draft.
Former USA U23 international Amobi Okugo, who is thrashing out a fresh deal, and new acquisition Igboananike are available for the expansion draft .
Last season, Igboananike scored 5 goals in 25 MLS appearances, and provided one assist.
