Marseille Sporting Director Zubizarreta In Talks With Chelsea Ace Mikel?

Marseille led by their sporting director, iconic former Spain international Andoni Zubizarreta, are in advanced talks with Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel over his move to the Ligue 1 club next month, according to reports.

In an interview with Europe 1, Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has sensationally claimed that Marseille are in pole position for the signature of his captain, despite more lucrative offers from Chinese Super League teams.

“I saw him in London. He is in advanced discussions with Marseille,” Rohr said

“Chelsea will allow him leave for nothing, it is a serious option. ”

Marseille are thought to be in the market for a defensive midfielder, with the future of Lassana Diarra up in the air after he was fined €10 million for breaking his contract with Lokomotiv Moscow.
