Chelsea Admit Nigerian Defender Had A Dreadful Debut
Published: January 30, 2017
In their weekly review of the players loaned out, the official website of Chelsea acknowledged that promising Nigerian defender Fikayo Tomori had a dreadful debut for Brighton & Hove Albion this past weekend.
The Brighton players could not believe when Tomori inadvertently put the ball into his own net against non-league Lincoln City in the 62nd minute and he was yellow carded before the end of the first half.
“But there was a Brighton debut to forget for Fikayo Tomori as he put through his own net as the Sussex club were beaten by non-league Lincoln City,” Chelsea wrote on their official website.
Tomori, 19, started twelve games for the Blues U23 squad, scoring once against Tottenham Hotspur before he was farmed out on loan to the Seagulls.
