Why Ideye, Aminu Umar Missed Manchester United, Leicester City, FC Basel Scouts
Published: February 17, 2017
Two Nigeria international strikers missed the opportunity to display their wares in Thursday night’s Europa League meeting between Olympiakos and Osmanlıspor.
While Brown Ideye was not selected by the Greek Super Lig champions after picking up a shoulder injury in last weekend’s clash vs Larissa, Aminu Umar was not in contention from the very beginning as he was due to undergo surgery last week.
According to SportDay journalist, Gian Chorianopoulos, scouts representing Manchester United, Leicester City, FC Basel and Hoffenheim were among the spectators at Karaiskaki Stadium.
This season, Ideye has featured 8 times in Europe and Aminu has 10 appearances under his belt in the Europa League, scoring 4 goals (3 assists).
Olympiakos were held to a goalless draw by their opponents from Turkey.
