Ex-Southampton Star Can Convince Lookman, Ejaria, Solanke, Aina To Play For Nigeria
Published: March 08, 2017
Former Southampton defender Reuben Agboola can play a key role in convincing Everton new kid on the block Ademola Lookman and other English-born born talents to commit their international future to Nigeria ahead of their country of birth.
The ex-Charlton Athletic starlet is on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation and reportedly turned down the opportunity to represent the Super Eagles ahead of this summer’s Fifa Under 20 World Cup.
Chelsea wonderkids Ola Aina, Dominic Solanke and Fikayo Tomori plus Liverpool duo Sheyi Ojo and Ovie Ejaria remain eligible to represent the Super Eagles despite having caps for England youth teams.
“If the Federation are looking for a well placed person to go speak to Ademola Lookman and many others they will do well to ask Agboola to come along, ” supersport.com stated.
“His experience and the fact that he was not born in Nigeria just might carry more weight in getting some these boys onside.”
