Barcelona Striker Bassey Still In Nigeria Awaiting Feedback From Spanish Embassy
Published: March 15, 2017
Barcelona striker Ezekiel Bassey is still waiting for positive feedback from the Spanish Embassy in Nigeria regarding his application for a work permit.
The Nigeria international made an under the radar transfer to the Spanish champions hours before the close of the winter transfer market but has not yet made his debut for their B Team in the Segunda División B because of red tape.
“I came to Nigeria to process my work permit, hopefully this week or next week I will be issued the document, ” Ezekiel Bassey told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I submitted the application last week Wednesday, I am still waiting for them to call me from the embassy to pick it up.
“Everything is going on well over there in Barcelona, I have been well received. Barcelona, the city, is a good place to stay. ”
Bassey, who was linked with West Ham and Tunisian clubs before his trip to Catalonia, has signed a contract with Barcelona until the end of the season, and included in the deal is the option to sign him on a two-year deal in the summer.
