Youngest Nigerian To Play In Premier League Misses Chance To Display His Wares To Valencia
Published: March 28, 2017
Sunderland rising star Joel Asoro missed an opportunity to display his wares when Sweden U21s took on their Serbian counterparts in an international friendly last Friday.
According to Super Deporte, representatives of Valencia were in Marbella to witness the game between the two European teams.
Though it is claimed that their main focus was on the versatile IFK Norrköping defender Linus Wahlqvist, the La Liga club had scouted Asoro when he made his debut for Sweden U21s against Spain back in September 2016.
The attacking midfielder or striker was also not involved in Monday’s game against the Czech Republic.
The IF Brommapojkarna product has four first-team appearances to his name for the Black Cats.
