Leicester City Star Ndidi : I Am Not Scared Of Facing African Champions Cameroon
Published: April 07, 2017
Leicester City rising star Wilfred Ndidi reckons that the international friendly against Senegal last month was the right preparation for the upcoming African Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers.
Despite Cameroon winning the 2017 African Cup of Nations, the defensive midfielder is relishing the prospect of taking on Hugo Broos’s side in August.
“There were a lot of lessons because the Senegalese are strong and very aggressive, ” Ndidi told Channels TV Sports.
“I think it will prepare us for the upcoming games against Cameroon and South Africa because of the way the Senegalese played, with much experience and players they have in the Premier League, other countries also, but I just feel we are ready for anything.”
The Leicester City number 25 added : “I don’t know about the other players, for me I wasn’t scared (after Cameroon won the AFCON).
“They deserved it, actually it is gone. We have to look forward to playing them next.”
The 20-year-old Ndidi has been involved in the last five matches contested by the Super Eagles, and started the World Cup qualifier against Zambia and the recent friendly with Senegal .
