Ex-Flying Eagles Star Gero Over The Moon After Scoring In Cup Final For Ostersunds FK
Published: April 13, 2017
Former Flying Eagles striker Alhaji Gero was delighted to get on the scoresheet in Ostersunds FK's 4-1 rout of IFK Norrkoeping in the final of the Svenska Cupen on Thursday evening.
The 23-year-old put the game to bed when he scored after a swift counterattack to give Ostersunds FK a two-goal advantage with seven minutes left on the clock.
''It was a top side we played against, it means a lot to me to win the Swedish Cup because we will be playing in the Europa League, '' said Gero to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''I scored a goal that was disallowed, I think it was a mistake from the referee. I got a second chance and I scored.
''I am dedicating this Cup win to my family, they mean everything to me.''
Gero joined Ostersunds FK from Danish club Viborg in January 2016 and recorded 22 appearances for the team in the Allsvenskan over the course of last season.
