Nigeria World Cup Star Close To Inking New Deal With Notts County
Published: June 13, 2017
Nigeria international Shola Ameobi is close to inking a new contract with EFL League Two club Notts County.
The Nottingham Post says Ameobi is on the brink of agreeing a new deal at Meadow Lane and could even put pen to paper this week.
The experienced striker penned a short-term deal with the Magpies in February 2017, and finished the season with four goals in 17 appearances in the English fourth-tier.
Prior to Ameobi's move to Notts County, he spent 19 years at Newcastle United and previously played with Stoke City, Crystal Palace, Bolton Wanderers and Fleetwood Town.
Meanwhile, Premier League newcomers Newcastle United have announced they will end their nine-year association with Sammy Ameobi when he comes off contract on June 30.
