Few hours after an unimpressive performance against South Africa in an African Cup of Nations qualifier, Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho scooped two awards at the 2016 Nigeria Pitch Awards.
The Nigeria international was the biggest winner on the night after he was awarded King of the Pitch and Striker of the Year.
Iheanacho was delighted to win both awards and took to Instagram to celebrate his achievement, writing : ''Pleased to win striker of the year and king of the pitch award yesterday, thanks to everyone that made this possible #Godisthegreatest 🇳🇬⚽✌️.''
Iheanacho is the youngest player to win the King of the Pitch and Striker of the Year, awards previously won by Emmanuel Emenike, Odion Ighalo, Vincent Enyeama and Ahmed Musa.
In 2016, the 20-year-old scored in four consecutive matches for the Super Eagles, against Mali, Luxembourg, Tanzania and Zambia.
