Vancouver Whitecaps Announce Acquisition Of Nosa Igiebor, Subject To Medical
Published: September 09, 2017
Canadian-based Major League Soccer club Vancouver Whitecaps have bolstered their midfield with the addition of Nosa Igiebor, pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate, work permit, visa, and medical examinations.
The Nigeria international has penned a deal that will keep him at Vancouver Whitecaps until the end of the 2017 season, with an option for an additional two seasons in the club's favour.
Igiebor severed all ties with Turkish club Rizespor after they were demoted to the second-tier at the end of last season.
''Nosa is a box-to-box midfielder who brings a lot of experience having played in some of the top leagues in the world," Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson told the club's official webpage.
"When you have an opportunity to bring in a player with this pedigree, you take it. Nosa adds competition for places in our midfield, which will only help strengthen our group."
Igiebor's previous clubs include Sharks, Warri Wolves, Lillestrom, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Real Betis and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
