Why Brian Idowu Missed Dynamo Match, Ogude Forced To Play CB
Published: November 25, 2017
Brian Idowu was missing from Amkar Perm's match day squad against Dinamo Moscow in the Russian Premier League on Friday evening, fueling speculation that the Nigeria international was among the players in the treatment room.
Amkar Perm coach Gadzhi Gadzhiyev had revealed before yesterday's contest at Stadion Zvezda that as many as eight players would not be available for selection due to injuries.
In their official match report on fc-amkar.org, Amkar Perm explained that Idowu could not take part in the match day 18 fixture because of yellow card accumulation.
According to the official statistics, the defender received his fifth yellow card of the season in last weekend's goalless draw at Rostov, which automatically ruled him out of facing Dinamo Moscow.
This is the second time this season Idowu has been suspended as he was also unavailable for selection against Lokomotiv Moscow due to the red card he was shown against CSKA Moscow.
Super Eagles star Fegor Ogude was forced to play as a central defender against Dinamo because of the thin squad.
