Nigeria Target Uche Surpasses Best-Ever Goal Tally In A Single Season
Published: November 26, 2017
Former Reading wonderkid Uche Ikpeazu netted the game-winner for Cambridge United as they claimed a 1-0 win over Stevenage at The Cambs Glass Stadium on Saturday evening.
In doing so, the Nigeria Football Federation target took his tally to seven goals and beat his single-season record for the league alone which was set last term, in his first season with United.
Ikpeazu managed 4 league goals during the 2013-14 season in his first season as a professional for League One club Crewe Alexandra, scored two the following season, five in 2015-2016 and netted six last term.
The 22-year-old has already equaled his single-season record of eight goals in all competitions.
Born in London, he was invited to Nigeria's U23 National Team ahead of the Olympic Games but club duties prevented him from traveling to Africa.
The striker was rated the tenth strongest player in the world ahead of the release of Fifa 18 by EA Sports.
