Rohr Reveals When He Will Announce Nigeria's Provisional World Cup Roster
Published: November 30, 2017
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has confirmed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed the 2019 African Nations qualifier between Seychelles and Nigeria earlier scheduled to take place in March 2018.
The German tactician was delighted with this development, stating that the Super Eagles will use the next Fifa window to play at least one warm up game, before he sends a provisional list of players for the World Cup to Fifa.
''My president, Amaju Pinnick, informed me of this eventuality. Normally, we had to play Seychelles on March 23, finally, it will be in October! '' Rohr told France Football.
''Even if a trip to Seychelles is not unpleasant, we will be able to schedule two preparation matches before the World Cup. A very good thing...
''March is a pivotal period for our players based in Europe, who will be in the latter part of the season.
''Ideally, we want to face a European opponent. This is also our last opportunity to test players before sending the provisional roster.''
Rohr is presently in Russia to attend the participating teams seminar and Friday's World Cup draw in Moscow.
