Ex-PSG Super Kid Ogbeche To Rohr: I Want To Play For Nigeria At 2018 World Cup
Published: December 09, 2017
Willem II striker Bartholomew Ogbeche is hoping his form in the Dutch Eredivisie will earn him a recall to the Super Eagles for the 2018 World Cup.
The former Paris Saint-Germain wonderkid was one of the youngest players in Nigeria's squadlist at the 2002 World Cup, and featured in group matches against Argentina and Sweden.
''I do not expect anything, I stay calm and keep my feet on the ground, I just have to work hard, and if there is an invitation I would be very happy,'' Ogbeche told FOX Sports.
''I still hope for Nigeria to call me. That's not a secret, I'm a professional footballer and that's still a dream.
''It would be great, but if it does not come, I'm not disappointed, then I just keep focusing on Willem II and I try to continue to help.
''We have to believe in our chance at the World Cup, I hope to be there.''
Back home in Nigeria, everyone is paying attention to Bartholomew Ogbeche with the striker scoring 7 goals in his last four matches, including a hat-trick against VVV Venlo two weeks ago.
