Wenger Reacts To Manchester United's Interest In Sanchez
Published: January 12, 2018
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reacted to speculation linking his star player Alexis Sanchez with a transfer to Manchester United before the close of the winter transfer market.
It has been claimed that Red Devils have attempted to hijack the Chile international's proposed move to bitter rivals Manchester City by submitting a 25 million pounds bid and offering Henrikh Mkhitaryan as makeweight in the deal.
''Honestly, I can’t tell you much more at the moment about the situation. Nothing is concrete at the moment,'' said Wenger at Friday's press conference.
''It’s not that I don’t want to inform you, I don’t want to give you wrong information. Nothing is concrete.''
Sanchez was on the brink of moving to Manchester City in the hours leading up to the close of the summer transfer window but a deal did not happen because Arsenal couldn't sign a replacement.
The 29-year-old arrived the Gunners from Barcelona in 2014.
