World-Class Goalkeeper Poised To Sign New Man Utd Deal Amid Real Madrid Interest
Published: February 23, 2018
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is poised to sign a new deal with the Premier League giants.
According to The Times, David de Gea looks set to commit his future to Manchester United by extending his contract.
The parties have been negotiating an extension of the goalkeeper's contract with a salary of £220,000 a week and have made significant progress.
His current agreement with United will run out at the end of the 2018-19 season and has the option of extending for a year but the club are keen to offer him fresh terms.
Real Madrid are monitoring the situation of de Gea and will make a decision whether to sign him or Thibaut Courtois in the summer.
The Spaniard was in goal for Spain's U17 national team in their loss to Nigeria in the final of the 2007 Fifa U17 World Cup.
