Chelsea Loanee Ola Aina Wants To Go To World Cup, Impresses In Midfield
Published: April 04, 2018
Chelsea loanee Ola Aina wants to represent Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup but remains focused at Hull City who are battling to beat the drop with six games remaining in the regular season.
The former England U19 skipper was deployed as a right midfielder as Hull City earned an impressive point at league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday in the EFL Championship.
So impressive was Aina's performance that he was among the four players shortlisted for Hull City's Man of the Match award.
''Personally I just take things step by step and focus in on the job I have to do here game by game,''Aina explained to Hull Daily Mail.
''I’m just taking it steady. I’m not thinking about it all the time. It could be a big few months ahead but it’s down to me to perform.
''Hopefully I make the squad that goes to the World Cup but first and foremost it’s to finish the season strong here and make sure we keep this great club up.''
The former England U19 skipper made his third appearance for the Super Eagles in their 2-0 loss to Serbia last week in London.
