Manchester City's Nigerian Trio Miss Out On Premier League Winners Medal
Published: April 22, 2018
It is now one hundred percent confirmed that Manchester City's Nigerian trio in the shape of defender Tosin Adarabioyo, midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru and striker Lukas Nmecha will miss out on Premier League winners' medals.
City manager Pep Guardiola has announced his match day squad for this afternoon's league match against Swansea City and the talented trio who are on the fringes of the first team have not been selected.
Adarabioyo has made the match day squads six times this season, against Newcastle United (2), Crystal Palace, West Brom, Burnley and Everton but has no appearances to his name.
And the same goes for Tom Dele-Bashiru and Lukas Nmecha; the striker was on the bench against Leicester City and Everton.
To date, Dele-Bashiru and Nmecha have played only game for the Citizens first team when they made their competitive debuts against Leicester City in the League Cup on December 19, 2017.
Premier League rules state that a player is eligible to receive a Premier League winners medal if he has entered the field of play in a minimum of five of its league matches that season and City have only four games left after today's fixture.
Manchester City Starting Lineup Vs Swansea City : Ederson, Danilo, Kompany (C), Laporte, Delph, Gündogan, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Silva, Sterling, Jesus
Subs: Bravo, Walker, Sané, Mendy, Otamendi, Touré, Foden
