Argentina Receive Good News On Injury Front As Man City Defender Is Cleared By Medics
Published: May 28, 2018Manchester City star Nicolás Otamendi is poised to resume training with the Argentinian national team after he received clearance from medics on Sunday.
The Argentine Football Association had earlier informed that he was due to train separately because of a slight problem in the groin, but additional tests have been carried out which revealed that the 30-year-old has not suffered any injury, and will be available for the next training.
Providing an update, AFA tweeted : ''@Notamendi30 and Marcos Acuña were subjected to complementary tests that did not reveal any kind of injury.''
Sporting CP winger Marcos Acuña felt pain in his left foot after sending in a cross during training on Saturday.
Otamendi was a non-playing substitute in Argentina's 1-0 win over Nigeria at the 2010 World Cup and was not in the team four years later in Brazil, but has gone the distance in two friendlies against the three-time African champions, most recently in their 4-2 loss in November 2017.
Marcos Acuña has never faced the Nigerian senior team in his career, he missed the friendly in Krasnodar due to a muscle complaint.
