Former Super Eagles invitee Joshua Maja faced the cameras shortly after his breathtaking show in the Black Cats 6-0 trouncing of St Mirren in a pre-season encounter on Saturday evening, expressing his delight with the team's performance as well as his efforts.
The Manchester City Academy product was part of Jack Ross's starting XI in Paisley and he was afforded the entirety of the game, dazzling and impressing everyone watching with two goals and an assist.
His second of the evening was particularly eye-catching as he produced a scarcely believable finish, leaving St Mirren goalkeeper, Craig Samson rooted to the spot to make the scoreline 4-0.
"I m glad the team got the win today. Its a pleasure to get so many goals in a pre-season game, so it's a great one", my chances and I took them well", Maja told Sunderland's official website.
"Happy for myself to get two goals, my first goals in the pre-season. Yes, I think in earlier games, I think I struggled and didn't look all sharp, but today i got my chances and i took them well.
"On the training pitch we 've been working hard to get our shape right and continue to push on from there for the rest of the season."
In their next pre-season game slated for Saturday 27th, Maja will hope to continue to impress his employers when they take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
