Anjorin Warms Up For New Season With Spectacular Goal For Chelsea U23
Published: August 03, 2018
Chelsea's Nigerian starlet Faustino Anjorin continued to bolster his reputation with the Blues after scoring for the club's development team in a 2-0 win overĀ Queen Park Rangers at Cobham.
The stock of the 16-year-old has been on an upward surge since breaking out for the U-18s and has now started to show his qualities with their reserve team after producing one of his sensational displays to see off their opponents in their final tune-up game just before the start of a new season.
An attacking midfielder with an enviable quality for scoring spectacular goals, the teenager doubled his side's advantage after Luke McCormick had opened scoring, bending a delightful strike into the bottom corner.
Anjorin bagged a scholarship deal with Chelsea during the summer window activities and will be desperate to get started with they take on Everton in their league opener next week.
The starlet made 14 league appearances in the U18 Premier League last season, scoring five goals and was part of the England U17 team which participated at the 2018 European Under 17 Championship in May 2018.
With his recent inspirational showings in the young Blues pre-season campaign, manager Joe Edwards will be looking to hand him another role with his team, with a trip to Swindon Town in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday 7th August beckoning.
