Joel Obi Omitted From Torino Squad Vs Liverpool, Parma New Suitor
Published: August 07, 2018No Nigerian player will take part in Liverpool's friendly with Torino at Anfield this evening, both clubs have confirmed via their official websites.
Super Eagles star Joel Obi was not in Torino's traveling party to the United Kingdom while England U21 star Dominic Solanke was not considered in a 24-man squad list announced by The Reds.
Torino have explained that Obi is unavailable because he is still recovering from parainfluenza syndrome but there might be something more behind that news, with the midfielder being linked with a summer departure from the Turin club.
Tuttosport says Parma are hoping to complete a deal for the Nigerian this week and they have been negotiating with Torino for several days.
AC Milan, Celta Vigo and Crystal Palace are the other clubs Obi has been linked with in the summer transfer window.
The former Inter Milan wonderkid spent the 2013-2014 season on loan at Parma, making eight appearances in the Italian topflight.
