Official: Left-Sided Defender Extends Contract With Chelsea

Through a statement on their official website, FA WSL champions Chelsea Women have confirmed that Sweden international defender Magdalena Eriksson has penned a fresh contract with the club.

The new deal signed by the left-sided defender will see her remain at Chelsea until the summer of 2021.

Last season, Eriksson impressed as The Blues won both the WSL1 and FA Cup and reached the semifinals of the Women's Champions League.

Commenting on the deal, the 24-year-old stated : ''It feels amazing, like it's the perfect solution for me.

''Football-wise, I feel like this team can go anywhere and accomplish anything, so in these next three years it's going to be exciting to see how many steps we can take and how far we can go; what we can win and achieve.''

The Stockholm-born full back played for Enskede IK, Hammarby IF DFF, Djurgårdens IF and Linköpings FC in her homeland before her move to Chelsea in July 2017.
