Dennis And Netherlands U21 Star Danjuma Help Club Brugge Maintain Top Spot With Goals
Published: September 01, 2018Two players of Nigerian descent, Dennis Bonaventure and his teammate, Arnaut Danjuma were on target for their Belgian First Division club, Club Brugge in a 5-2 win against Zulte-Waregem on Friday evening.
The 20-year-old arrived just in time to prod home from a Hans Vanaken's cross after 37 minutes and put his team three-nil up at the Regenboog Stadion.
Dutch-Nigerian youngster, Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld would then join the goal party five minutes after the restart when he shot from outside the box to the high centre of the goal, beating goalkeeper, Sammy Bossut for the fourth time.
For Bonaventure, it was his second consecutive league goal for the Blue and Black, having opened his account for the season last week in a 2-1 victory over fierce rivals, Anderlecht while Danjuma took his tally to three, his other double coming in a 3-0 win over Kortrijk on matchday 3.
The result ensured Club Brugge remained top of the division's standings with 16 points from their first six games, winning five of those.
Danjuma who has ties with Netherlands due to his maternal parentage was recently named in the Jong Oranje 27-man provisional squad list for games against England and Scotland next month.
