Omeruo Among Five Rusty Super Eagles Players Ahead Of AFCON Qualifier Against Seychelles
Kenneth Omeruo will report for international duty early next week without playing in a competitive game in the new season after he was an unused substitute in Leganes' 4-1 loss to European champions Real Madrid on Saturday evening.

A brace from Karim Benzema plus goals from Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos saw Real Madrid claim all three points and maintain their perfect start to the 2018-19 campaign.

Omeruo was in Leganes' traveling party to Bilbao but did not not make the match day squad and was also frozen out on match day two against Real Sociedad.

If Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr names the Chelsea loanee in the starting lineup for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles on September 8, it would be his first competitive match for more than two months.

The 24-year-old will be a player of CD Leganés until June 30, 2019 and this is the fifth club he has been loaned out to since his arrival at Chelsea from Sunshine Stars in January 2012.

Defenders Brian Idowu and Chidozie Awaziem, and goalkeepers Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Francis Uzoho are in the same boat as Omeruo as the four players have been inactive for their clubs in the league this season ahead of their trip to Seychelles.
