Torino Looking To Sign Italian Defender To Provide Competition For Ola Aina
Published: September 08, 2018Torino have reignited their interest in SPAL fullback Manuel Lazzari and will attempt to secure his services in the January transfer window.
Torinogranata.it has reported that Torino are in the market for a right back due to the recent physical problems of Aina and Ansaldi and are are hoping to beat Inter Milan and Roma to his signature.
The 24-year-old Lazzari received his first call-up to the Italian National Team for the UEFA Nations League matches against Poland and Portugal after establishing himself as one of the best right sided defenders in the Serie A.
Aina has shown excellent physical attributes in the three games he has played for Torino but he's not yet a finished product defensively.
The former England U19 skipper was invited for the AFCON qualifier against Seychelles but pulled out of the squad after suffering an injury against SPAL, a game in which he made his full debut
for The Maroons in the Italian topflight.
Aina joined Torino on a season-long loan from Chelsea in the summer transfer window with an option to buy inserted into the agreement.
