Visa Hitch Stops Chelsea Loanee Omeruo From La Liga Debut Against Barcelona
Kenneth Omeruo will not make his competitive debut for CD Leganés when they take on Spanish champions Barcelona at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque on Wednesday evening.

The latest update from Spain, manager Mauricio Pellegrino in particular, is that the Chelsea loanee is still in Nigeria awaiting the outcome of his application for a work visa.

In normal circumstances, Omeruo is classed as a European Union player despite being in the possession of only a Nigerian passport because of the Kolpak ruling.

The Nigeria international is among the four players in the Leganes team that won't feature against Barcelona, the others being Ezequiel Muñoz, Alexander Szymanowski and José Manuel Arnaiz.

Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano are Leganes' last two opponents in La Liga before the second international break of the 2018-2019 season and Omeruo would be hoping he's considered for those games.

Pellegrino's team are without a win after five rounds in the division and sit bottom of the table.
