Brighton's Super Falcons Star Umotong Finds Nothing Abnormal In Loss To Chelsea
Published: October 02, 2018
Super Falcons star Ini Umotong finds nothing abnormal in Brighton & Hove's 2-0 loss to Chelsea in the Women's Super League on Sunday and admitted that the Seagulls picked up some valuable lessons from the defeat to the English champions.
Two first half goals from Francesca Kirby and Erin Cuthbert condemned Brighton to their fourth straight loss in the WSL, with their Nigerian star in action for ninety minutes at Kingsmeadow.
Umotong came close to pulling a goal back with ten minutes remaining, only for goalkeeper Telford to save her shot.
Discussing the game, Umotong told Brighton's official webpage : ''Going into the game, we knew it was going to be tough.
''Chelsea are the champions and on their home turf, we always knew it was going to be a challenge.
''In the first half I don’t think we really found our feet and they came at us hard. In the second half it was a different game, I feel as though we were on the front foot and we created a lot more and had better chances than they did.''

Umotong and her teammates return to WSL action on Sunday 14th October against Everton.
