Former Super Eagles Star Emenalo's Sporting Director Job At Monaco Is At Risk
Published: October 09, 2018
Former Chelsea Technical Director Michael Emenalo is reportedly facing the axe at Monaco following the club's dismal start to the 2018-19 season.
The Principality outfit sit 18th in the Ligue 1 standings after losing five of their first nine games of the season, and were defeated by Atlético Madrid then Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.
According to Get French Football News, AS Monaco fans are blaming the Sporting Director for the lackluster transfer window that has left manager Jardim with a bit-part squad.
The Portuguese manager is likely to be fired in the coming days and the reorganization could affect Emenalo.
A meeting has been scheduled where AS Monaco Vice President Vadim Vasilyev and club’s owner Dmitry Rybolovlev will discuss the future of the former Nigeria international and Jardim.
Emenalo was appointed to the role of Monaco Sporting Director in November 2017, few weeks after his departure from Chelsea, and is responsible for all sporting matters.
