Published: October 10, 2018
Chelsea-linked young defender George Bello has been rewarded for his imperious display for Atlanta United in their 2-1 win against New England Revolution after earning a spot in Major League Soccer's Team of the Week.
The Abuja-born starlet netted his first career goal in the American topflight on Saturday, October 6, making him the sixth youngest player to score in the league, and was a constant threat on the left wing.
Bello had one shot on target which resulted in a goal, made one key pass and won two aerial duels over the course of ninety minutes against New England Revolution.
He also did well defensively with four successful tackles, two interceptions and one clearance.
In a 3-4-3 formation, Bello was picked in a three-man defense along with Aaron Long (New York Red Bulls) and Keegan Rosenberry (Philadelphia Union).
The United States Soccer Federation have invited Bello to their U17 team for the 2018 U17 International Youth Tournament in England, where they will face the hosts, Brazil and Russia.
