Super Eagles Hold Recovery Session, Team Meeting With Rohr Scheduled For 1800 Hours
Published: October 14, 2018
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the Super Eagles have started preparations for the upcoming match day four 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya.
A recovery session was held at the Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort, Uyo on Sunday morning, with the players split into two groups.
All the players worked out in the gym but the ones that didn't feature in yesterday's match did a bit more outside, with the exclusion of Turkish-based duo Eddy Onazi and Abdullahi Shehu who are both sidelined with injuries.
Manager Gernot Rohr has fixed a team meeting scheduled to begin at 1800 hours, after which the players will be free to engage in other activities until tomorrow when they will fly to Sfax aboard a chartered plane.
Reacting to yesterday's win and the upcoming game in Sfax against Libya, Rohr said : ''We won the game because we scored four goals. We worked hard for the win and scored more goals. It’s good for the team.
''We deserved the victory against a side that played well against South Africa. Everyone was impressed. The early goal gave us good confidence at the start of the game.
''We will approach the game (in Sfax) differently and ensure we record another win.''
Nigeria will all but confirm their spot in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations if they secure another win against their North African opponents on Tuesday, October 16.
