SC Paderborn Will Release Collins To NFF Despite LB Struggling With Ankle Injury For Several Weeks
Published: November 06, 2018
SC Paderborn have expressed their happiness over Jamilu Collins' call-up to the Super Eagles and stressed that his invitation to the national team since the start of the 2018-2019 season was as a result of his good performances for the 2 Bundesliga club.
Although there are concerns over Collins' fitness following his injury-related substitution in the second half of their 2-0 loss to MSV Duisburg, the fullback has yet to pull out of the Nigeria squad.
The former Rijeka starlet has been struggling with an ankle injury for several weeks and got injured again three days ago.
SC Paderborn confirmed on Tuesday morning that Collins will be released to the Nigerian Federation from the 12th to the 21st of November.
''The renewed invitation is also a confirmation of his good performance in the 2nd Bundesliga,'' said CEO Sport Markus Krösche to the club's official website.
Jamilu has become a top performer in our defensive network. In the national games, he will gain more valuable experience.''

Collins was preferred ahead of World Cup star Brian Idowu for the two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya in October.
