Liverpool's Nigerian-Born Winger Offered Five-Year Contract By Lazio
Published: December 31, 2018Ibadan-born winger Bobby Adekanye might end his association with Liverpool at the end of this season.
Corriere
dello Sport informs that Italian Serie A club Lazio have been
negotiating with Adekanye and his entourage since November and are
hoping to sign the player on a pre-contract when the transfer window
opens for business tomorrow.
The winger's
contract with Premier League pacesetters Liverpool expires in June 2019
and he's set to leave on a free transfer as he has declined to sign a
new deal.
Adekanye is mindful of the fact that
he will not get first-team opportunities if he remains at Anfield though
he has trained with the first teamers on few occasions this season.
The
19-year-old is arguably Nigeria's top performer in the UEFA Youth
League in the last two seasons, having had a hand in 6 goals (5 goals, 1
assist) in 12 matches.
He has also appeared for the youth teams of VV Alphia, Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona.
