Chelsea Tell Ex-Super Eagles Defender : Pay N4.05B & Fabregas Moves To Monaco
Published: January 06, 2019Monaco's Sporting Director Michael Emenalo is set to reunite with his former player at Chelsea, Cesc Fabregas.
According to French sports daily L'Equipe, the Principality side and Chelsea are finalizing the final terms of the transfer of the central midfielder.
To release the player six months before the expiration of his contract, The Blues are demanding 10 million euros (around N4.05 billion), a sum deemed excessive by the management of Monaco, bearing it in mind that the 31-year-old has no resale value.
With the presence of Emenalo, who spent ten years at Chelsea, Monaco hope to quickly reach an agreement with their English counterparts and plan to officially confirm the capture of Fabregas in the next forty eight hours.
The 2010 World Cup winner is expected to put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal with The Monégasques.
Cesc Fabregas presumably made his last appearance for Chelsea in their FA Cup third-round tie against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
