Official : One-Time Leeds United Target Mbakogu Returns To Padova
Nigerian-born striker Jerry Mbakogu has ended his long search for a new club after completing his move to Italian Serie B club Padova on Tuesday, January 8, informs the official website of the Biancoscudati.

The 26-year-old had been looking for a new employer since he parted company with Carpi on August 6, 2018.

He was heavily courted by Championship outfit Leeds United in 2018 only for the Premier League promotion candidates to cool their interest despite obtaining an Italian citizenship which would have enabled him play in England.

In his first spell at Padova from 2006-2014, he managed only one appearance largely due to the fact that he was farmed out on loan to Palermo, Juve Stabia and Carpi.

Apart from a four-month stint with Krylia Sovetov in Russia, all his career has been spent in Italy.

Mbakogu has scored 39 goals in 142 appearances in the Serie B and provided 26 assists in those matches.
