Southampton Super Kid Who Is Open To Playing For Nigeria Reveals His Best Position
Published: January 09, 2019Southampton starlet Oludare Olufunwa has opened up about his best position on the pitch.
The 17-year-old started off his career as a central defender but has been converted into a right fullback by The Saints youth team coaching staff.
The second-year scholar must have made an impact in his new position as fullback for him to considered for a full debut for the U23s in their most recent game against Stoke City.
''I think the change came from the coach I had at the time,'' Olufunwa told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''They saw I had the ability to play also at right back and so for the team this was the best position for me to play at the time.
''I’ve played centre back for the large part of my life and probably feel I play best there but I’m still young and learning the game overall.''
Olufunwa has admitted that he would be open to playing for the Nigerian
National Teams if he's invited by the Nigeria Football Federation.
